SOLETRON x FYSH

Sunday, January 8, 2012

We were approached by Soletron not too long ago about doing a small feature on our brand.  We answered a few questions about our brand and sent in some pics and everything went very well.  The interview is up on their site and if you are anybody take a quick look it’s definitely worth a look, HERE

Soletron is a online site catering to sneakerheads through and through providing lifestyle articles, blogs, and even their own shop of some pretty big brands small and big alike.  If this is indication of what is to come Soletron will be around for a long time.  This isn’t the last you’ll hear about us on Soletron either.

Tyler the Creator

Can’t knock this kids hustle.  I’ve seen pop up on some blogs recently in the past few months and his energy is top level.  This guy is blowing it up for himself.  Don’t quote me, but I believe I read that he was a long time employee of a streetwear brand running the store and now does his own thing.  He is part of a band Odd Future and is putting up his own brand GOLF WANG.

Everything is kind of dependent on the hype that he is spinning, no doubt, great front man for his business.  His tees are awesome in the way that they are just out there and I can see why they would appeal to a certain audience.  Where there is product there’s always an audience.

Beats Executive

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

So I actually own a pair of the regular Beats, don’t worry it came with a free ipod that I sold on eBay to subsidize the cost.  The problem I always had with them is that they are always a bit too flashy.  They have this high gloss and bright red accent to them, which draws attention.  It’s probably why they have been so popular to date.  Using the black cord for the mic instead of the red helps with this but still can’t help feel a little young for whipping them out in the airport or in public in general.  The studio pros are a bit more subdued, but still have that bright silver finish to them.

So here comes the newest installment, Beats Executive.  Aimed squarely at more professional type users looking for a toned down look.  I love the stitched leather on top and the brushed steel on the cans.  the black b’s work too.  Overall it’s a very elegant look.  Now comes the price $399.99, that’s definitely executive, haha.

After using my headphones I can definitely say they are one of the best I’ve used.  However it is the consensus that there are plenty of better alternative for less than half the price; brand like Grados, Sennheiser, or even Sony.  They may lack aesthetic appeal, but offer superior audio reproduction.  Although that being said beats provide the deepest bass overall, which is kind of what you look for in these.  I don’t know if I’ll be getting them but they do look awesome.

Cut Brooklyn

This video features a fictional writer by education happening to almost walk into creating hand made goods, specifically knives.  If you watch the video this guy is serious the patience that he takes with each piece is amazing.  I really like the little emblem bolts/knots that are used on each knife.  They look badass but have that hand made quality to them.
